With each step she takes towards becoming an angel, she loses such elements as feeling, hunger, sleepiness, pain, and eventually her soul. However, rejuvenating the world isn't as simple as fighting through a bunch of dungeons, Colette also has to sacrifice her humanity. When the time comes to rejuvenate the world, she sets out on her adventure without a fuss. A devout follower of the Church of Martel, Colette is more than willing to sacrifice herself for the good of humanity. She's been decreed Sylvarant's Chosen since birth - and has been raised accordingly. Origins: Colette Brunel spent her entire life in Iselia of Sylvarant. She believes that everything is her fault - and she apologizes accordingly. But, beneath all this niceness is an underlying sadness - which probably has something to do with her self-sacrifice to rejuvenate her world. And by nice, we mean overwhelmingly nice (she tries to befriend her assassin). His open attack on the Desians brought destruction upon Iselia - making him an outcast and wanted criminal. Early on in their adventure, Lloyd helps Genis save a prisoner at the nearby human ranch. When Lloyd learns that Colette must begin the journey of rejuvenation, he demands that he accompany her - he becomes her guardian. He grew up in Sylvarant near the town of Iselia - where he became close friends with Genis and Colette. Due to his Dwarven upbringing, Lloyd possesses knowledge of Exspheres (orbs that give bearers superhuman powers and key crests (items that control Exspheres). ![]() Orphaned as a child, Lloyd was taken in by his adoptive father - Dirk the Dwarf. Origins: Lloyd is our hero - and the one that the player controls for the majority of the adventure. His vows to not make any more mistakes, a promise he has a hard time keeping. And, for all of Lloyd's good intentions, things always go wrong regardless of what he does. He doesn't pay attention in school and is always finding some way to get into trouble. When the adventurers learn this, their quest becomes more desperate - a desperate search to stop the two world's parasitic nature and to stop the villains that have cruelly intertwined the fate of both worlds. ![]() Sylvarant's prosperity means Tethe'alla's decline. However, unbeknownst to the Chosen and her party, another world - a mirror world - is bound to Sylvarant. Here she'll awaken the goddess Martel whose power can rejuvenate this world (returning the flow of mana). By praying at the many elemental seals hidden throughout Sylvarant, she'll be transformed into a true angel - allowing her to ascend the Tower of Salvation. To end everyone's pain and suffering, a Chosen is born. As this substance is depleted, more monsters roam the land, magi-technology devices cease to function (or the tech is lost completely), and the Desians (human enslaving elves) gain more control over the human populace.
